Art Exhibition: "Our Heritage Area"
A partnership Project with Artists of Northern New Mexico.

November 1 thru March 1, 2020
Alcalde, New Mexico

Currently on display at the Heritage Center is our largest exhibition to date, since opening in 2017.

The exhibition, Our Heritage Area,  highlights a diverse range of art media from an impressive collective of artists spanning centuries of Northern New Mexico history .  Language, culture, tradition, and environment are all at the core of how creatives express ideas about cooperation, education, and resistance in the diversely populated & perpetually contested land that is New Mexico.

Maps, artifacts, and weavings from the early 19th century, on loan from Mark & Linda Winter include banded blankets, Saltillo style serapes, and a very rare horse saddle given as a gift from the President of Mexico to the Governor of New Mexico in 1929 are on display for visitors daily. It is an educational exhibit, complete with informative labels.

The Heritage Center is located in Alcalde, NM. 1/2 way between Santa Fe & Taos on State Hwy 68 & we are open Tuesday thru Saturday 9:30am to 5pm. For info. or to schedule a visit, call - (505) 852-0030.
