America's popular animal artist Lori Faye Bock has been a mainstay in Santa Fe & Taos galleries since 1997. The artist paints in her Abiquiú farm studio located in an early 18th century adobe compound along the Chama River. There, she is surrounded by a bevy of companion pets, farm animals and birds which influence her creations.

She also publishes a line of prints and greeting cards available in stores and shops throughout the state and online at LoriFayeBock.store.

Harnessing the flow of hot wax is like capturing moments in time. Sometimes it feels like drowning in a wave and sometimes it feels like surfing.

What interests me in making art is the underlying elements as opposed to the overriding form. I like dots and grids, squares and swooshes. Sometimes just plain color.

Things look disparate only when viewed on the surface. Underneath, things share a common substance.

I like to work in wax because it immediately refers to its origins as the building material of bee houses. Its smell recalls its original purpose of providing shelter for life and its sweetness.

I wonder how a bee, designed to fly from flower to flower, manufactures a home that looks nothing like itself. Based on a casual observance of its awkwardly bulbous, possibly furry, body transported around by the frantic motions of the flimsiest wings, one would never expect that this creature’s house would bring to mind the propositions of Euclid.

I've been working with fibre for over 30 years, in manifestations from knitting through fine hand-made paper and books to felt in many forms.
I love to play with colour and texture, and my latest work - colourful little creatures called 'Bosch Monsters' surprises and delights my visitors - and me!
Our gallery is open May through October, but my work can usually be seen somewhere local and on our website all year round.

Mark White

Mark grew up in Centralia, Illinois. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Southern Illinois University. His graduate work includes studies in sociology and art. During his post graduate work, Mark was able to study under sculptors Lincoln Fox and Valentin Okorokov; master patineur, Patrick Kipper; and painter, Albert Handel.

In addition to the meditative and mesmerizing kinetic wind sculptures for which he is so well-known, Mark White is a prodigious painter. He works in many mediums, including engravings on metal, oil on panel, and oil on metal. His metal pieces, on copper, aluminum and stainless steel, are engraved on the surface to reflect light like a three-dimensional object. Clouds appear to be sculpted rather than just painted, and the patterns of light change as the viewer moves.
